World Gone Mad has been around for roughly 16 years is currently under the direction of "Captain" Jack Hammond.

Jack is originally a native of Central Illinois and made his way to Austin in the summer of 2009. He is a Veteran and spent seven years as a Steelworker in the U.S Navy Seabees doing multiple overseas deployments including Northern Iraq as part of Desert Storm

After being Honorably Discharged, he attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he received his Bachelors in Music Education. During his time at SIU, Jack was a member of the Marching Salukis, Jazz Band I and II, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and of course Pep Band! He was active in numerous student organizations including the SIU Veterans Association and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
